Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED or 2-year degree in relevant field
  • minimum 1-2 years leadership experience in food and beverage and rooms operations preferred
  • 2 years of experience in food and beverage, culinary, guest services, front desk, housekeeping or related area
  • or 3 years experience in two hospitality areas if no standard education
  • strong organizational and leadership skills
  • ability to work full time on-site
  • excellent communication skills
  • willingness to follow brand standards and compliance procedures
  • ability to manage multiple departments and schedules
  • understanding of safety and sanitation regulations
  • experience with performance management and employee development
  • capability to handle guest service challenges

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED or 2-year degree from an accredited university in hotel and restaurant management, hospitality, business administration, or related major
  • 2 years experience in food and beverage, culinary, guest services, front desk, housekeeping, or related professional area
  • experience running a shift, scheduling, performance management, problem solving, and day-to-day operations in hospitality
  • strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • ability to lead and motivate teams
  • knowledge of OSHA regulations
  • understanding of food and beverage trends and event presentation
  • proficiency in managing departmental inventories and budgets
  • capable of handling guest complaints effectively
  • basic understanding of financial management including budgets and payroll reports
  • familiarity with brand standards and operational procedures
  • ability to coach, mentor, and participate in employee appraisal and hiring processes

Job Duties

  • Leads daily front desk, housekeeping, or guest services shift operations
  • assists in supervising an effective inspection program for guestrooms and public spaces
  • attends all pertinent meetings (staff, forecast, pre-cons, department)
  • ensures knowledge and understanding of OSHA regulations are up to date
  • opens and closes restaurant, bar, or food and beverage outlet shifts
  • supervises operations in absence of director or manager
  • adheres to and reinforces standards, policies, and procedures
  • manages banquet and event room setups according to event documentation
  • leads and participates in servicing events
  • assists in maintaining inventory of function room amenities
  • manages departmental inventories and orders supplies
  • schedules banquet and event service staff
  • motivates and encourages staff to solve guest and employee concerns
  • participates in employee performance appraisal processes
  • coaches and mentors team members
  • handles guest problems and complaints
  • meets and greets guests
  • ensures completion of assigned shift checklist and other duties
  • understands night audit procedures
  • supports management of departmental inventories and assets
  • participates in daily stand-up and pre-shift meetings
  • manages to achieve or exceed budgeted goals
  • creates and nurtures a motivating hotel environment that emphasizes teamwork and service
  • communicates critical information to teams
  • assists with event technology when necessary
  • schedules employees to meet business demands and productivity goals
  • verifies accuracy of room rates to maximize revenue opportunities
  • works effectively with engineering on maintenance needs
