Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum age 20 years
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Functional literacy in math and reading
  • Satisfactory criminal, driving, and employment history
  • Certification in CPR, First Aid, Physical Management or equivalent
  • Medication Administration training
  • Universal Precautions and OSHA regulations training
  • Completion and maintenance of all mandatory CSI training
  • Training in persons’ individualized support plans
  • Physical ability to assist individuals including lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English verbally and in writing

Job Qualifications

  • Prior experience supporting persons with disabilities preferred
  • Associate's degree in related field preferred
  • Satisfactory criminal, driving, and employment history
  • Certification in CPR, First Aid, Physical Management techniques, Medication Administration
  • Training in person’s individualized support plans
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English verbally and in writing

Job Duties

  • Support and implement the CSI mission while empowering persons supported to direct their own lives
  • Develop and maintain positive and effective relationships with persons supported
  • Provide opportunities for learning new skills and life experiences
  • Teach and role-model appropriate social behavior
  • Assist in the development and implementation of vision statements and support plans
  • Support optimal health including medication administration and medical appointment assistance
  • Ensure persons supported exercise their rights
  • Assist in maintaining clean and safe homes
  • Obtain and maintain all required certifications and training
  • Maintain effective communication and cooperation with team, family, guardians, and stakeholders
  • Assist with money management and safeguard funds
  • Complete required documentation promptly
  • Adhere to CSI policies for safety
  • Coordinate staffing coverage
  • Perform on-call responsibilities
  • Share supervision of Direct Support Professionals with Program Manager
  • Perform other duties as assigned
