Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 2-3 years experience in restaurant management
  • Ability to work various shifts including weekends
  • Capability to stand and move for up to 10 hours
  • Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds
  • Strong communication and writing skills
  • Dexterity to use small tools and equipment
  • Willingness to work in different restaurant positions as needed

Job Qualifications

  • At least 2-3 years restaurant management experience
  • Serve Safe Food certification and Serve Safe Alcohol certification preferred
  • Proven leadership and team management skills
  • Strong problem-solving and stress management abilities
  • Ability to foster positive guest and employee relations
  • Effective communication skills
  • Familiarity with inventory control and scheduling
  • Knowledge of safety, sanitation, and compliance requirements
  • Ability to train and develop staff
  • Proficiency with store-related technology and management software

Job Duties

  • Ensure timely, friendly service according to company guidelines, achieving established objectives of the unit
  • Cultivate a culture in accordance with Flynn Applebee's core values and beliefs
  • Ensure immediate response and correction of all verbal guest complaints to self and staff
  • Ensure guest contact as a priority with completion of required table visits as per standards
  • Maintain departmental inventory levels
  • Ensure product preparation and presentation meeting company standards by performing line checks
  • Effectively schedule employees to meet sales demands
  • Maintain effective safety and security programs
  • Promote and lead restaurant organization, cleanliness, and sanitation
  • Perform routine maintenance and report needed repairs to General Manager or Area Director
  • Promote quality recruitment and referrals of potential team members and management candidates
  • Promote training procedures for new managers
  • Help maintain a trained staff through employment orientation, individual training sessions, employee meetings, and implementation of company policies and training systems
  • Participate in the development of employees using one-on-one sessions and performance documentation
  • Assess employee efficiency and provide regular feedback
  • Monitor acceptable employee performance and document situations requiring disciplinary or corrective action
  • Assure compliance with company policies, practices, and procedures
  • Control costs in assigned department
  • Comply with local, state, and federal laws, regulations, and guidelines
  • Drive food and liquor inventories at the AD/GM's request and ensure completion
  • Prepare and submit accurate daily paperwork
  • Assure sanitation standards meet or exceed Health Department and company standards
  • Provide a role model for managers and employees
  • Develop skills on all store-related technology
  • Be willing and able to work in all positions and assist team members as needed
  • Use the Management Development Program for growth of leadership skills and proficiencies
