Job Requirements
- high school diploma or GED
- 4 years relevant experience
- 1-3 years experience in food service management or related field
- excellent customer service skills
- ability to read and interpret documents
- ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- successful completion of a background check

- excellent customer service skills
- ability to read and interpret documents such as receipts, safety rules, and operating instructions
- ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- successful completion of a background check
- associate's degree in hospitality management or related field preferred
- knowledge of ServSafe sanitation guidelines or similar food handler program
- experience with HACCP principles
- excellent verbal and written communication skills
- experience managing classified civil service, bargaining union employees, and student staff
- knowledge of computerized ordering systems
- ability to speak effectively before groups
Job Duties
- assist in managing a university dining unit
- supervise 10-15 full-time employees and up to 300 part-time student employees
- manage food production and service
- oversee procurement and inventory of food and supplies
- supervise customer service and relations
- ensure meals meet prescribed standards
- manage performance and supervision of employees
- order product
- take inventories
- inspect incoming food and supplies
- orient, train and coach employees
- manage student managers and student personnel program
- work varying shifts including weekends, holidays, and special events
