Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum 2-3 years restaurant management experience
  • ability to work various shifts including weekends
  • capability to stand and move for up to 10 hours
  • ability to lift up to 50 pounds safely
  • good reading and writing skills
  • manual dexterity for handling small tools and equipment
  • willingness to assist in various positions including cooking, bartending, and seating guests
  • compliance with all local, state, and federal laws and company policies

Job Qualifications

  • At least 2-3 years restaurant management experience
  • Serve Safe Food and Serve Safe Alcohol certifications are a plus
  • proven leadership and team management skills
  • excellent problem-solving abilities
  • strong communication skills
  • ability to work well under pressure
  • commitment to maintaining high standards of guest service
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • proficiency with restaurant operations and scheduling

Job Duties

  • Ensures timely, friendly service according to company guidelines, achieving established objectives of the unit
  • cultivates a culture in accordance with the Flynn Applebee's Premier Card of core values and beliefs
  • ensures immediate response and correction of all verbal guest complaints to self and staff
  • ensures guest contact as a priority with completion of required table visits
  • maintains departmental inventory levels
  • ensures product preparation and presentation meet company standards by performing line checks
  • effectively schedules employees to meet sales demands
  • maintains effective safety and security programs
  • promotes restaurant organization, cleanliness and sanitation
  • performs routine maintenance and reports needed repairs to General Manager or Area Director
  • promotes quality recruitment and referrals of potential team members and management candidates
  • promotes Flynn Applebee's training procedures for new managers
  • helps maintain trained staff through orientation, training sessions, employee meetings, and company policy implementation
  • participates in employee development using one-on-one and performance documentation and contributes to written evaluations
  • assesses efficiency of employees, provides fair feedback, and works on areas of development
  • monitors employee performance and documents situations requiring corrective action
  • assures compliance with company policies, practices and procedures
  • controls cost in assigned department
  • ensures compliance with local, state, and federal laws, regulations and guidelines
  • conducts bi-weekly or weekly food and liquor inventories as requested
  • prepares and submits accurate daily paperwork
  • assures sanitation standards meet or exceed health department and Flynn Applebee's standards
  • provides a role model for managers and employees
  • develops self on all store-related technology
  • works in all positions and assists team members as needed
  • uses the Management Development Program for leadership growth
