Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid Food Handlers Permit or ability to pass San Bernardino County Food Safety Card training within two weeks
  • At least one year of institutional cooking experience preferred
  • One to two years of food service, cafeteria, or kitchen support experience preferred
  • Physical ability to stand and lift moderate weights
  • Comfortable working with individuals with special needs
  • Ability to work in a rustic, outdoor environment
  • Proficiency in conflict resolution and problem-solving
  • Strong computer and communication skills

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Assist in preparing and serving nutritious meals for campers and staff, accommodate special dietary needs
  • Follow pre-planned menus and portion control standards
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and dining areas
  • Ensure food safety compliance including proper storage and handling
  • Collaborate with food service staff for meal prep, serving, and cleanup
  • Track and manage kitchen inventory and notify supervisors
  • Assist with receiving and organizing food deliveries
  • Support special events and celebrations occasionally
  • Respond to emergencies as directed to ensure safety
  • Report maintenance or safety concerns promptly
  • Uphold mandated reporting responsibilities
  • Perform other duties supporting the program and organizational mission
