Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven experience as an assistant kitchen manager or similar role
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Experience with POS systems such as Toast POS
- Strong leadership and staff management skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Basic budgeting and cost control experience
- Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and holidays
Job Qualifications
- Extensive experience in food preparation cooking techniques and kitchen management within quick service and fast-food or casual dining environments
- Proficiency with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS for sales processing and cash handling
- Strong knowledge of inventory control methods and food management practices
- Proven leadership skills with experience in staff training supervision and team management
- Excellent understanding of food safety protocols and health regulations
- Background in hospitality management with experience in restaurant or hotel settings preferred
- Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Effective communication skills for interviewing candidates conducting staff training sessions and coordinating with other departments
- Budgeting expertise including cost control strategies for labor food costs and operational expenses
- Experience in catering or banquet services is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to lead by example with a focus on customer service excellence
Job Duties
- Oversee daily kitchen operations ensuring all food preparation and cooking meet quality standards and safety regulations
- Manage and supervise kitchen staff including hiring training scheduling and performance evaluations
- Implement and maintain inventory control procedures to minimize waste and optimize stock levels
- Coordinate with front-of-house teams to ensure seamless service delivery and customer satisfaction
- Monitor food safety practices including proper handling storage sanitation and compliance with health codes
- Utilize POS systems such as toast POS for order processing cash handling and sales reconciliation
- Lead staff training initiatives to develop culinary skills food safety awareness and excellent customer service
- Manage shift schedules efficiently to meet operational demands while controlling labor costs
- Assist in budgeting cost control and menu planning to maximize profitability
- Oversee catering events banquets or special functions as needed
- Conduct regular quality checks on food production and presentation to uphold brand standards
- Foster a positive team environment that encourages collaboration accountability and continuous improvement
