Job Requirements

  • HS diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years progressive restaurant or back-of-house experience
  • Knowledge of food safety rules and standards
  • In-depth Italian cuisine preparation experience
  • Understanding of back-of-house administrative functions
  • Experience mentoring kitchen staff
  • Ability to speak, read and communicate in English
  • Strong communication and supervisory skills
  • Highly motivated and able to think quickly on the job

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in a restaurant or back-of-house environment
  • Working knowledge of food safety rules and standards
  • In-depth experience preparing various dishes with a focus on Italian cuisine
  • Strong understanding of back-of-house administrative duties and functions
  • Prior experience mentoring and teaching kitchen employees
  • Excellent communication and supervisory skills
  • Fluent in English
  • High motivation and quick decision-making ability

Job Duties

  • Ensure that all food items and products are stored, prepared and served based on the kitchen's recipe, preparation and portion standards
  • Prepare dishes according to company and store recipes
  • Assist with hiring, training, scheduling, and other kitchen administrative functions
  • Order kitchen materials and ingredients based on store menu and ingredients
  • Supervise food preparation and ensure customer satisfaction
  • Maintain a clean working environment and enforce safety and company policies
  • Maintain adequate inventory levels and conduct daily and weekly inventories
  • Collaborate with department managers to create menu items, pricing and establish portion sizes
  • Schedule shifts by business hours, days, and occasions
  • Oversee training for safe operation of kitchen equipment and proper handling of heavy and hazardous materials
  • Perform other duties as assigned
