Job Requirements

  • Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 3 years of relevant kitchen or retail experience
  • Minimum 1 year experience in supervisory or team lead role
  • Proficient in English communication
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations
  • Ability to handle physical demands of kitchen environment
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Detail oriented and able to manage multiple tasks
  • Good problem solving and interpersonal skills

Job Qualifications

  • Good communication skills in English
  • Proficiency in Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin) is advantageous
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant experience
  • At least 1 year supervisory experience preferred
  • Basic understanding of profit and loss management
  • Ability to interpret data and market information
  • Good computer skills in MS Office
  • Knowledge of workplace health and safety protocols
  • Interest in merchandise management and implementation
  • Familiarity with inventory control and promotional strategies
  • Ability to accurately interpret product labels
  • Strong organization, problem-solving, interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Job Duties

  • Provide hands on support to the Department Head in managing department performance and attaining departmental goals
  • Manage and supervise department daily operation and staff performance
  • Provide coaching, on-the-job training, shadowing, and guidance to department staff
  • Supervise Kitchen Deli Assistants ensuring fair work distribution and execution of daily checklists
  • Promote teamwork and create an inclusive working environment
  • Manage products ordering process and execution
  • Follow company’s pricing principles closely with Merchandising Department
  • Conduct quality and inventory control and ensure cleanliness, hygiene, equipment maintenance, and workplace safety
  • Oversee product quality, food safety, freshness, and ensure FIFO compliance
  • Maintain and update UPC pricing and verify product labeling accuracy
  • Ensure proper packaging and display of BBQ, hot foods, dim sum, sushi and other products
  • Lead by example through performing all hands on duties required in the Kitchen Department
