Job Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
- At least 1 year of supervisory experience preferred
- Good communication skills in English
- Proficiency in Cantonese and/or Mandarin is advantageous
- Basic understanding of profit and loss management
- Good computer skills in MS applications
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety protocols
- Interest and knowledge in merchandise management and inventory control
- Ability to interpret product labels accurately
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
Job Qualifications
- Good communication skills in English, proficiency in Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin) is advantageous
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience with at least 1 year in a supervisory role
- Basic understanding of profit and loss management and ability to interpret data and market information
- Good computer skills in MS applications
- Well versed in workplace health and safety protocols
- Knowledge in merchandise management and implementation including inventory control and promotional strategies
- Familiarity with relevant kitchen tools and equipment and ability to interpret product labels
- Strong organization, problem-solving, interpersonal and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
Job Duties
- Provide hands-on support and assistance to the Department Head in managing department performance and attaining departmental goals
- Manage and supervise daily kitchen operation and staff performance
- Provide coaching, on-the-job training, shadowing, and guidance to department staff
- Supervise Kitchen Deli Assistants, ensuring fair distribution of work and strict execution of daily checklists
- Promote teamwork and create an inclusive working environment
- Oversee product ordering, process and execution
- Follow the company’s pricing principles and partner closely with the Merchandising Department on pricing strategies
- Conduct quality and inventory control and ensure cleanliness, hygiene, equipment maintenance, and workplace safety
- Oversee product quality, food safety, freshness, and strict FIFO adherence
- Maintain and update UPC pricing and verify proper product labeling
- Ensure BBQ, Hot Foods, Dim Sum, Sushi, and other products are properly packaged and displayed
- Lead by example by performing all hands-on duties required in the Kitchen Department
