Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management or related field preferred
- minimum 3 years management experience in hospitality industry
- strong organizational skills
- excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- available to travel and work flexible long shifts including 14 to 15 hour days for extended periods
- must pass US Coast Guard regulated pre-employment drug test
- must have Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
- ability to lead teams and manage multiple departments
- customer service oriented
- physical capability to perform onboard duties
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management or Hotel and Restaurant Management preferred
- minimum 3 years management experience at a full-service hotel, resort, or cruise ship
- business degree may be considered with management and hospitality experience
- military experience may be considered with management and hospitality experience
- strong organizational skills
- excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications
- available to travel and work a flexible schedule including 14 to 15 hour days for six to eight weeks at a time
- US Coast Guard regulated pre-employment drug test
- Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
Job Duties
- Supervise the Housekeeping Manager and Restaurant Manager at the direction of the Hotel Manager
- assist Hotel Manager as directed
- assist Restaurant Manager during all meal services
- perform duties of Hotel General Manager when Hotel General Manager is off ship
- prepare with Hotel Manager for turnover and handoff of duties during scheduled time off
- present and available during all meal services including secondary dining outlet
- support the Housekeeping Manager and team ensuring guest spaces, rooms, and public areas are cleaned and maintained
- assist and verify stateroom inspections
- assist and verify with Housekeeping Manager for the Turnaround Day process
- oversee bartender steward ensuring secondary bar operations run smoothly
- display leadership and maintain professional presence
- be visible and available to all guests and crew
- hold officers and crew accountable to American Cruise Lines’ standards
- comply with American Cruise Lines’ operations manual, service standards, and procedures
- assess management team performance and provide immediate corrective feedback
- anticipate needs of guests and crew
- respond quickly to guest requests and ensure follow-through of service delivery
- identify problems, resolve immediately, and request home office support as needed
- assist with breakfast, lunch, and dinner services, cocktail hour, and onboard events
- oversee crew orientation, training, scheduling, appearance uniform standards, and discipline
- assist ship officers in achieving weekly sales goals
- maintain impeccable cleanliness in passenger areas and ensure housekeeping standards are followed
- maintain sanitation and cleanliness standards of crew rooms
- monitor shipboard business transactions, accounting, timecards, and home office reporting
- complete daily ship inspection with HGM and HKM to ensure ship cleanliness and generate special projects
- track all hotel maintenance items and ensure completion
- create consistent and positive crew experiences to improve employee retention
- perform bartending duties as needed
- expedite breakfast service ensuring timely service and food quality that meets company standards
