Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • two to three years experience in fine dining restaurant front of house and event management
  • experience in management, retail, or related field
  • proficiency with personal computers and POS systems
  • ability to manage staff and coordinate multiple activities
  • strong organizational and communication skills
  • detail oriented
  • ability to work independently and in a team
  • valid TABC Certificate
  • valid Food Handler's Certificate
  • ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • able to stand and walk for extended periods
  • willingness to work approximately 40-45 hours per week
  • able to attend mandatory meetings

Job Qualifications

  • Two to three years experience in fine dining restaurant in front of house and event management
  • experience in management, retail, or related field working closely with the public and hotel management
  • ability to use personal computer for register transactions, word processing, spreadsheets, and budgeting
  • ability to read P&Ls and control cost centers
  • good management and leadership skills
  • good communication and personnel skills
  • highly motivated and organized
  • detail oriented with ability to coordinate multiple activities
  • excellent organizational skills and ability to work independently
  • good written and oral communication skills
  • basic wine knowledge
  • ability to interact courteously and professionally with guests, co-workers, and business associates
  • people and hospitality oriented
  • valid TABC Certificate and Food Handler's Certificate

Job Duties

  • Oversee all aspects of the Tasting Room and Vintage House - front of house
  • plan and execute training and managing employee development plans
  • maintain staff files and process administrative paperwork related to personnel
  • create weekly and quarterly wait staff meeting curricula focused on service, efficiency, wine knowledge, safety, teamwork, and company procedures
  • develop sales and achieve sales goals to ensure profitability within budget
  • assist Wine Club and VIP department with in-house events to maximize attendance and sales
  • enforce departmental procedures and company policies with staff
  • be responsible for safety and protection of employees, including work site analyses and safety training
  • promote dinners, tours, events, and repeat sales
  • perform cash handling duties including transactions, verifying cash drawer, and making change
  • manage opening and closing procedures
  • represent Designer Events in the absence of the primary Event Manager
  • set up, execute, and wrap up in-house and private events when scheduled
  • maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization in all areas of operations
  • maintain inventory control including scheduled transactions and floor stock knowledge
  • assist with inventory management of salable gift items, promotional materials, food products, and other items
  • perform other duties as required including assistance to other departments
