Job Requirements

  • Associate's degree in business, recreation management, marketing, or a related field
  • Three years of experience in golf course management and retail merchandising or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Preferred registration as an Apprentice or Member in the Professional Golf Association (PGA) Level I
  • Passing of the Playing Ability Test of the PGA
  • Basic supervisory skills
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Ability to work flexible hours including holidays and weekends
  • Ability to respond to emergency situations
  • Knowledge of golf rules and regulations

Job Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in business, recreation management, marketing, or related field
  • Three years of experience in golf course management and retail merchandising or equivalent education and experience
  • Registration as an Apprentice or Member in the Professional Golf Association (PGA) Level I is preferred
  • Passing of the Playing Ability Test of the PGA is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of golf rules, equipment and customer service skills
  • Ability to conduct golf lessons and clinics
  • Experience with tournament coordination and golf shop merchandising
  • Proficiency in operating point-of-sale systems and handling financial transactions

Job Duties

  • Assist with clubhouse merchandising, display and inventory control for golf shop
  • Maintain a level of service to keep pace with customer needs and requests
  • Sell golf supplies and equipment
  • Assist customers with technical equipment purchases, repairs and club fitting
  • Conduct group golf lessons and clinics including player development programs
  • Assist with developing and promoting tournaments and act as Tournament Coordinator as assigned
  • Oversee operations of the golf course and related assets, ensuring clean, safe, secure facilities in compliance with regulations
  • Greet golf course guests and provide prompt, courteous and friendly customer service
  • Collect greens fees and cart rental fees, operate point-of-sale system, reconcile cash register sales and prepare accounting reports
  • Assign tee times and coordinate play
  • Enforce golf rules and regulations, and police the course to regulate play and player conduct
  • Assist with management of food and beverage services
  • Promote recreation programs and services to community agencies and groups
  • Respond afterhours as needed in emergency situations
