Job Requirements

  • Two or four year certificate from a college or technical school
  • Two or more years in related experience and/or training
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience accepted
  • Valid Florida Driver's License
  • Valid Florida Pesticide Applicator License
  • Frequent standing, walking, and ability to lift up to 50 pounds daily

Job Qualifications

  • Two or four year certificate from a college or technical school in turf management or related field
  • Two or more years of experience in golf course maintenance or related training
  • Valid Florida Driver's License
  • Valid Florida Pesticide Applicator License
  • Strong knowledge of turf management and golf course maintenance techniques
  • Ability to effectively communicate with diverse teams and departments
  • Proven leadership skills including staff supervision and safety training

Job Duties

  • Document and file daily records for each team member's assignments
  • Communicate with golf shop in the morning about maintenance procedures
  • Coordinate with the Applications Specialist regarding applications and scheduling
  • Plan fertilizer applications on the golf course
  • Inspect staff for proper cleaning and maintenance of equipment daily
  • Conduct daily course tours to monitor condition of greens, tees, fairways, and rough
  • Log weather conditions including rainfall and submit reports
  • Check soil moisture using probes and note environmental factors
  • Collaborate with mechanic for equipment use and maintenance
  • Discuss daily schedules and concerns with the Golf Course Superintendent
  • Obtain and manage daily labor reports to control budget
  • Report issues promptly to superintendent to minimize impact
  • Conduct monthly safety meetings
  • Perform regular staff evaluations and document performance
  • Ensure compliance with environmental and maintenance standards
  • Maintain pesticide license and pursue continuing education in related fields
