Job Requirements

  • Must be able to favorably represent the hotel to guests and community
  • Operational knowledge of hotel functions
  • Experience in budget management and accounting
  • Ability to develop and motivate personnel
  • Maintain high employee morale and training
  • Responsible for inventory and proper use of materials
  • Manage hotel equipment and facilities
  • Handle revenues and enforce cash handling procedures
  • Ability to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods
  • Strong communication skills
  • Team oriented and service dedicated
  • Available to work weekends and holidays
  • May use personal vehicle for business
  • Valid Food Handler Card as required

Job Qualifications

  • Operational knowledge of all hotel phases
  • Budget and accounting skills
  • Sales procedure knowledge
  • Personnel selection, development and motivation skills
  • Preferred CHA designation
  • Ability to represent the hotel positively
  • Skilled in employee relations
  • Experienced in managing materials and products
  • Responsible for equipment, building and furnishings
  • Knowledgeable in revenue and cash handling procedures
  • Good communication skills
  • Team oriented
  • Dedicated to excellent service
  • Ability to work any day including weekends and holidays
  • Valid Food Handler Card as required
  • Spanish speaking skills a plus
  • Ability to lift, bend and remain on feet for extended periods

Job Duties

  • Promotes company mission, vision and core values
  • Assists in developing operating budgets
  • Sells potential guests both within the hotel and outside the hotel
  • Meets and greets convention officers and other VIPs
  • Creates and implements a marketing plan
  • Maintains quality standards for guest room cleanliness and public areas
  • Inspects at least 10 guest rooms per week
  • Analyzes operations and meets with department heads
  • Selects, trains, and develops department heads
  • Counsels employees and establishes programs to improve morale
  • Participates in sales, forecasting, quality control, and safety meetings
  • Prepares timely reports and proposes improvement strategies
  • Prepares annual capital improvements list
  • Studies employee work assignments and manages staffing
  • Approves overtime and manages payroll
  • Controls hotel expenses
  • Ensures property safety and sanitation
  • Obtains competitive rate information
  • Communicates with Area Manager and home office executives
  • Adheres to company policies and brand standards
  • Performs other duties as assigned
