Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum seven years industry experience
  • At least three years management experience in relevant venue
  • Proven leadership and management capabilities
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to supervise and train staff
  • Experience in contract negotiation and procurement
  • Knowledge of safety, security, and emergency protocols
  • Physical ability to perform duties including lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Willingness to work extended and irregular hours
  • Ability to maintain effective relationships with clients, vendors, and unions
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of seven years industry experience
  • At least three years in management at arena, convention center, or stadium
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation abilities
  • Experience with procurement and contract management
  • Knowledge of safety, emergency, and crisis management procedures
  • Ability to develop and implement operational policies and long-range plans
  • Skilled in budgeting and financial analysis
  • Capacity to lead special projects and manage vendor relationships
  • Proficiency in customer service standards and employee training
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Familiarity with LEED standards and sustainability initiatives
  • Experience working with unionized environments
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends.

Job Duties

  • Directs, supervises and schedules operations including maintenance, shipping/receiving, safety, security, ADA compliance, sustainability, setup, housekeeping, engineering and IT
  • Initiates and maintains rapport with facility customers and external service providers to ensure high service standards
  • Creates and manages procurement processes including RFPs, contract creation and diversity participation
  • Oversees contractor compliance and safety programs, including training and reporting
  • Develops and implements preventive maintenance schedules, emergency response and crisis management plans
  • Negotiates contracts and agreements with suppliers, vendors, unions and service providers
  • Serves as project lead for special projects such as construction and remodeling
  • Develops, reviews, and renews bid specifications for maintenance and repair services
  • Coordinates implementation of plans and programs to maintain guest services, employee training, quality assurance, energy efficiency, safety, and crisis management
  • Ensures compliance with LEED standards
  • Prepares and delivers presentations to potential facility users
  • Represents the facility at sales activities and industry events
  • Supports production meetings, pre-cons, post-cons, and site visits
  • Negotiates collective bargaining agreements and maintains union relationships
  • Implements facility policies and corporate objectives
  • Meets with department heads to review reports and oversee program changes
  • Assists in development of long-range plans and annual budgets
  • Conducts post-event operational and financial reviews
  • Coordinates personnel development, training, and safety procedures
  • Reviews and approves purchasing, travel, and promotional expenses
  • Works extended and irregular hours as needed
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
