Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university
  • minimum of five years’ industry experience with at least three years in management of an arena, convention center or stadium
  • skills and experience in contract negotiation, business law, labor relations, union contracts, purchasing procedures, and supervising personnel
  • ability to respond promptly and decisively during crisis situations
  • proficiency in MS-DOS, Windows, Word, Excel, and/or Lotus 1-2-3
  • excellent oral and written communication skills
  • ability to organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines
  • ability to maintain effective working relationships with clients, employees, and other stakeholders
  • valid U.S. driver’s license and insurance
  • flexibility and adaptability
  • ability to handle confidential information
  • excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • knowledge of safety regulations and employment laws

Job Qualifications

  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to handle confidential information
  • knowledge of entertainment or convention facility management
  • understanding of safety regulations and legal compliance
  • strong orientation towards hospitality and customer service

  • ability to manage a facility of similar size and type
  • ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

Job Duties

  • Implement facility policies and goals in accordance with the management contract, client’s objectives, and corporate policy
  • meet with department heads to review activity, operating, and sales reports
  • determine changes to programs and/or operations and oversee implementation
  • negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers, promoters and tenants for necessary activities and services
  • assist in the development of long-range plans and program objectives
  • guarantee compliance with codes, laws, ordinances, policies, procedures, risk management, safety precautions, rules, regulations and emergency procedures
  • implement procedures to establish and maintain customer service standards
  • assist in preparation of the annual and capital project budgets
  • establish and maintain contact with booking agents, professional managers, and promoters
  • conduct post-event operational and financial reviews
  • coordinate and administer personnel development, training, safety, and emergency procedures
  • review and approve purchasing, travel, and promotional expense activity
  • work extended and/or irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
