Job Requirements

  • Bachelor degree
  • at least 5 years of experience in senior management roles
  • experience as General Manager or Managing Director
  • ability to work under limited supervision
  • strong written and oral communication skills
  • knowledge of accounting practices and procedures
  • proficiency with MS Office and accounting software preferred
  • ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
  • ability to organize, prioritize tasks, and maintain flexible approach
  • experience working in unionized environments
  • commitment to safety and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
  • demonstrated leadership and decision-making skills
  • ability to establish effective working relationships with diverse stakeholders

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • at least 5 years of senior leadership experience including general management or managing director roles
  • thorough knowledge of accounting practices and procedures
  • experience in transit operations and administration
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • strong ability to perform and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • ability to maintain a flexible attitude towards assignments
  • experience working with labor unions in a transit setting
  • demonstrated skills in budgeting, planning, and resource allocation
  • expertise in safety, security, and compliance protocols
  • exceptional interpersonal, relationship-building, and negotiating skills
  • executive-level presentation and client interaction capabilities

Job Duties

  • partner with Safety, Risk and Continuous Improvement teams to implement process improvements and ensure compliance
  • execute client’s service planning, improve scheduling/blocking, and recommend real-time scheduling adjustments
  • develop and maintain effective working relationships with teams, union, public, government agencies, elected officials, and board of trustees
  • provide oversight, direction, and coordination of staff in providing cost-effective, efficient, and reliable transit services
  • make sound decisions in a fast-paced, dynamic setting
  • communicate effectively with high-level clients, colleagues, and stakeholders
  • handle high-level client interactions with executive-level presentation skills
  • manage and organize multiple projects and work assignments
  • work well with bargaining labor unions
