Job Requirements

  • Minimum two years of hotel experience in a front desk managerial role
  • Strong oral and written English communication skills
  • Knowledge of hotel front desk operations and procedures
  • Proven ability to supervise and train staff
  • Demonstrated decision-making skills
  • Ability to prioritize and delegate tasks effectively
  • Ability to maintain positive team and guest relations
  • Capability to manage operations across multiple departments
  • Basic accounting skills
  • Proficiency with cash registers, computers and calculators
  • Possession of a current valid driver’s license
  • Proof of auto liability insurance
  • Willingness to work long hours, five to six days a week
  • Physical ability to perform tasks requiring walking, standing, bending, lifting up to 20 lbs

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of two years hotel experience as Front Desk Manager or progressive front desk responsibility
  • Strong English skills, both oral and written
  • Proficient in hotel front desk operations and procedures
  • Ability to supervise and train personnel
  • Strong salesmanship and public relations skills
  • Ability to make timely and effective decisions
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and delegate work assignments
  • Ability to maintain good team member relations
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective guest relations
  • Ability to manage multi-departmental operations
  • Ability to direct team member performance and follow up with corrective actions
  • Basic accounting knowledge
  • Proficiency with cash registers, computers and calculators
  • Current valid driver’s license
  • Proof of auto liability insurance

Job Duties

  • Maintain a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times while providing personalized service to hotel guests
  • Communicate effectively with guests and fellow team members
  • Proficient at all Guest Service systems and processes
  • Supervise, train, coach and retrain Guest Service Team on systems, processes, procedures and guest interaction
  • Oversee and ensure accountability in all aspects of Guest Service Team's performance
  • Responsible for all front office activity during scheduled shifts
  • Monitor and adjust room availability status
  • Monitor and complete filing of registration cards, reservations, correspondence and no-shows and signatures on file
  • Complete daily cash report
  • Handle no-shows
  • Resolve billing disputes
  • Manage accounts receivable
  • Perform banking tasks
  • Manage bad checks and credit card debts
  • Open, stamp, sort and distribute mail
  • Prepare accounts payable
  • Compile security reports
  • Check and audit banks
  • Verify travel agent commissions, franchise frequent stay program activity, and central reservations
  • Check Maid's List and ensure room availability status is accurate
  • Check time cards against posted schedule
  • Submit daily report to General Manager
  • Maintain good guest relations by staying informed of in-house and area functions to answer guest inquiries
  • Maintain department and front desk log books to enhance communication and operations
  • Provide assistance to other team members and departments
  • Perform other duties as assigned or requested by management
