Job Requirements
- At least 5-6 years progressive experience in a hotel
- Bachelor's Degree preferred
- Long hours sometimes required
- Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times
- Effective verbal and written communication with all levels of employees and guests
- Ability to listen, understand and clarify concerns
- Ability to multitask and prioritize to meet deadlines
- Attend all required meetings and trainings
- Participate in M.O.D. coverage
- Maintain regular attendance according to scheduling needs
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming
- Comply with Highgate Hotel Standards and safety regulations
- Identify and assist in solving productivity problems
- Effective problem handling including anticipation and prevention
- Ability to understand and evaluate complex information and data

Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree preferred

Job Duties
- Play a pivotal role in hotel sales efforts including calling on top accounts, meeting clients, hosting luncheons and receptions, and meeting on-site contacts daily
- Tour operating departments daily and make adjustments with department heads
- Conduct weekly staff meetings including training sessions using Highgate Hotel standards and review previous and future sales and operations
- Meet all financial review dates and corporate directed programs timely
- Hold monthly financial reviews with department managers and supervisors
- Ensure department heads maintain budgeted productivity and accounting procedures
- Develop managers through competency and corporate-sponsored training programs
- Participate in required M.O.D. coverage
- Maintain contact and monitor management trainees
- Adhere and train new managers on Highgate Hotel policies and procedures
- Oversee and assist in Hotel budget process
- Ensure training in service standards in each department
- Create positive team environment focusing on guest through employee development and motivation
- Inspect rooms regularly with Housekeeping Manager and Property Engineer
- Ensure complete processing of invoices daily and compliance with accounting calendar
- Maintain cleanliness and maintenance of property through inspections and preventive maintenance
- Ensure employees provide attentive and courteous service
- Forecast monthly hotel financial position and analyze data
- Conduct management interviews and follow hiring procedures
- Interview final candidates for management positions
- Perform Executive Committee members’ performance appraisals
- Motivate, coach, counsel and discipline management personnel
- Perform duties as requested by Vice President or Regional Director
- Ensure fair and equitable treatment of employees
- Meet clients on property to assist sales effort
- Be present in public areas during peak times to greet guests
- Ensure hotel safe procedures and audits are followed
- Conduct monthly credit meetings and take active role in credit and collection policies
