Job Requirements

  • At least 5-6 years progressive experience in a hotel
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Available to work long hours as needed
  • Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times
  • Effective verbal and written communication with employees and guests
  • Ability to listen, understand and clarify concerns
  • Capable of multitasking and prioritizing to meet deadlines
  • Approach all encounters in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner
  • Attend all required meetings and training sessions
  • Participate in M.O.D. coverage as scheduled
  • Maintain regular attendance per Highgate standards
  • Adhere to high standards of personal appearance and grooming including wearing nametags
  • Comply with Highgate standards and regulations for safe and efficient operations
  • Identify productivity issues and assist in developing solutions
  • Proficient in problem anticipation, prevention, identification and resolution
  • Able to understand and evaluate complex information and data
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Perform light physical work involving up to 20 pounds of force occasionally
  • Perform other duties as required by management

Job Qualifications

  • Five to six years of progressive experience in hotel management
  • Bachelor's degree preferred but not mandatory
  • Strong communication skills across verbal and written formats
  • Proven ability to maintain professionalism and a positive demeanor
  • Skilled in multitasking and prioritizing departmental functions
  • Experience in conducting trainings and performance appraisals
  • Familiarity with financial review processes and budgeting
  • Knowledge of hospitality industry standards and compliance
  • Ability to foster a team-oriented and guest-focused environment
  • Proficient in handling confidential information and operational procedures

Job Duties

  • Play a pivotal role in hotel sales efforts including client meetings and hosting events
  • Tour operating departments daily and coordinate adjustments with department heads
  • Conduct weekly staff meetings with training sessions and sales reviews
  • Meet all financial review dates and corporate program requirements
  • Hold monthly financial reviews with department managers and supervisors
  • Ensure department heads maintain budgeted productivity and accounting procedures
  • Develop managers for advancement through training programs
  • Participate in scheduled M.O.D. coverage
  • Monitor and support management trainees
  • Enforce compliance with Highgate policies and train new managers
  • Assist in the hotel budget process
  • Implement service standards training across departments
  • Foster a positive team environment focused on guest satisfaction
  • Regularly inspect rooms with housekeeping and engineering
  • Ensure accurate and timely invoice processing and financial reporting
  • Oversee cleanliness and maintenance through inspections and preventive maintenance
  • Ensure employees maintain attentive, friendly, courteous service
  • Forecast and analyze the hotel’s monthly financial position
  • Lead management interviews and hiring procedures
  • Conduct performance appraisals and administer disciplinary actions
  • Ensure fair and equitable treatment of all employees
  • Meet clients to support sales efforts
  • Greet guests in public areas during peak times
  • Manage hotel safe procedures and audits
  • Conduct monthly credit meetings and oversee credit policies
  • Perform other duties as assigned by senior management
