Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 5+ years supervisory or management experience in passenger transportation
  • Knowledge of federal and state employment laws
  • Knowledge of transit operation regulations
  • Ability to work with government entities
  • Financial/budget management experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to handle labor relations
  • Pass DOT drug test and physical if applicable
  • Eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
  • Ability to work flexible schedules

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Logistics, Transportation or related field preferred
  • 5+ years of supervisory or management level experience in the passenger transportation industry
  • Knowledge of relevant federal and state employment laws
  • Thorough knowledge of transit operation laws, ordinances and regulations
  • Thorough knowledge of transit system staff and operational departments
  • Ability to work with state and local government
  • Experience with cost control and financial/budget management for multiple locations
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Ability to influence at all organizational levels
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to navigate labor relations and work with union partners, including grievances and negotiations
  • Subject to DOT drug testing and physical if applicable

Job Duties

  • Directs daily operations management
  • Provides strategic planning and direction to the operations staff
  • Manages contract compliance
  • Shares responsibility for scheduling, performance evaluation, and staffing of the facility's management staff
  • Handles travel requirements outside immediate area of less than 10%
  • Oversees safety of personnel and passengers
  • Manages customer service and financials
