Job Requirements

  • Valid driver's license required
  • Frequently standing up, bending, climbing, kneeling, and moving about the facility
  • Exposure to commercial cleaning chemicals
  • Carrying, lifting or pulling items weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Frequently handling objects and equipment
  • Will be required to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Hotel Administration, Business Administration or related field preferred
  • Three years as a General Manager, Operations Manager, and/or Director of Sales in extended stay hotels preferred
  • Ability to speak, read, and write fluent English
  • other languages beneficial
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills
  • Mathematical skills including basic math, budgeting, profit/loss concepts, percentages, and variances
  • Problem solving, reasoning, motivating, organizational and training abilities
  • Ability to prioritize and organize work assignments
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and Opera systems preferred
  • Ability to travel including some overnight travel

Job Duties

  • Deliver on the promise of Sonesta Service in all interactions with guests and clients
  • Manage according to the Sonesta G.U.E.S.T. standards and instill a passion for customer service in all associates
  • Create processes and procedures to ensure the hotel is properly supplied, maintained, and clean
  • Manage direct sales activities in partnership with Regional Sales Director and Global Sales Office
  • Directly supervise the hotel’s Director of Sales and collaborate on sales and marketing plans
  • Manage seasonal demand strategy with Regional Revenue Manager including room pricing and length of stay adjustments
  • Regularly sell hotel rooms through direct client contact
  • Establish and implement service recovery guidelines ensuring guest satisfaction
  • Manage brand positioning through marketing programs and guest recognition initiatives
  • Oversee front office, housekeeping, and food and beverage operations via Operations Manager
  • Supervise physical plant maintenance through Maintenance Manager
  • Attend evening social and breakfast events representing hotel management and prospecting sales leads
  • Lead development and monitoring of capital and operational budgets
  • Work with Finance Department on variance identification and financial reporting
  • Ensure proper financial process management in partnership with General Ledger Accountant
  • Manage physical building, grounds, and parking maintenance with National Engineering and Facilities Operations
  • Oversee human resources and benefits programs including recruiting, onboarding, training, and performance management
  • Manage information technology systems and assets in coordination with IT representatives
  • Oversee purchasing processes and supplier relationships with Procurement representatives
  • Enforce hotel standards, policies, and procedures within departments
  • Act as Manager on duty as required
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state and local laws related to health, safety and alcohol services
  • Perform other duties as assigned
