Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Minimum 5-6 years of progressive hotel experience
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Strong leadership and team development capabilities
  • Ability to multitask and manage priorities effectively
  • Maintain a professional and friendly demeanor at all times
  • Willingness to work long hours when necessary

Job Qualifications

  • At least 5-6 years progressive experience in a hotel
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with employees and guests
  • Ability to listen understand and clarify employee and guest concerns
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions
  • Approach all interactions with attentiveness friendliness courtesy and service orientation
  • Attend all required hotel meetings and trainings
  • Participate in M.O.D. coverage as needed
  • Maintain regular attendance as per scheduling needs
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming including wearing nametags
  • Comply with Highgate Hotel Standards and regulations for safety and efficiency
  • Maximize productivity efforts and problem solve
  • Ability to handle complex information and maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to perform light physical work involving exertion of up to 20 pounds
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management

Job Duties

  • Play a pivotal role in hotel sales efforts including calling on top ten accounts meeting clients hosting luncheons and receptions and meeting with on-site contacts daily weekly and monthly
  • Tour operating departments daily making adjustments via department heads
  • Conduct weekly staff meetings including weekly training sessions and review of previous and future sales and operations efforts
  • Meet all financial review dates and corporate directed programs timely
  • Hold monthly financial review with department managers and supervisors
  • Ensure department heads maintain budgeted productivity and accounting procedures
  • Develop managers for future advancement through competency and corporate training
  • Participate in M.O.D. coverage as scheduled
  • Maintain direct contact with and monitor management trainees
  • Adhere to all Highgate Hotel policies and train new managers for compliance
  • Oversee and assist in the budget process
  • Ensure service standards training and compliance in all departments
  • Assist in creating a positive team-oriented environment focusing on guest and employee development
  • Inspect rooms regularly with housekeeping and property engineer
  • Ensure complete processing of daily invoices using A/P process
  • Ensure financial documents reach Corporate Office monthly in compliance with accounting calendar
  • Maintain cleanliness and maintenance of property through inspections and preventive maintenance
  • Ensure employees interact attentively and courteously with guests and others
  • Forecast monthly financial position by estimating revenues and expenses
  • Prepare and conduct management interviews and ensure procedural compliance
  • Interview all final candidates for management positions prior to offer extension
  • Perform Executive Committee performance appraisals and ensure compliance
  • Motivate coach counsel and discipline management staff per policy
  • Perform other duties as requested by Vice President or Regional Director of Operations
  • Ensure fair and equitable treatment of employees
  • Meet clients on property for sales support
  • Greet guests and offer assistance in public areas during peak times
  • Ensure secure hotel safe handling and monthly audits
  • Conduct monthly credit meetings and support credit and collection policies
