Job Requirements
- At least 5-6 years progressive experience in a hotel
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Long hours sometimes required
- Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times
- Effective verbal and written communication with employees and guests
- Ability to listen understand and clarify concerns
- Ability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions
- Approach guests and employees in a courteous and service oriented manner
- Attend all required meetings and trainings
- Participate in M.O.D. coverage as required
- Maintain regular attendance per hotel standards
- High standards of personal appearance and grooming including wearing nametags
- Comply with hotel standards to ensure safe and efficient operations
- Maximize productivity efforts and assist in problem solving
- Effective in handling problems including anticipating and identifying issues
- Ability to understand and evaluate complex information
- Maintain confidentiality of information
- Ability to perform light work up to 20 pounds occasionally

Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Minimum 5-6 years of progressive hotel management experience
- Strong leadership and team development skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Proven ability to manage financial and operational aspects of a hotel
- Experience in sales and guest relations
- Knowledge of hotel policies and procedures
- Ability to conduct training and staff development
- Skilled in budget management and financial forecasting
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Commitment to guest satisfaction and team-oriented environment
Job Duties
- Play a pivotal role in hotel sales efforts including calling on top ten accounts meeting clients hosting luncheons and receptions and meeting with on-site contacts daily weekly and monthly
- Tour operating departments daily making adjustments via department heads
- Conduct weekly staff meetings including training sessions and review of sales and operations efforts
- Meet all financial review dates and complete corporate directed programs timely
- Hold monthly financial reviews with department managers M.I.D.s and supervisors
- Ensure department heads maintain budgeted productivity levels and follow accounting procedures
- Develop managers for future advancement through training programs
- Participate in required M.O.D. coverage as scheduled
- Maintain contact with and monitor development of management trainees
- Adhere to all Highgate Hotel policies and train new managers for compliance
- Oversee and assist in the Highgate Hotel budget process
- Ensure training in service standards in all departments
- Create a positive team environment focusing on guest satisfaction through employee development
- Inspect rooms weekly with Housekeeping Manager and Property Engineer
- Ensure daily processing of invoices using A/P process
- Ensure timely submission of financial documents to Corporate Office
- Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of property via inspections and preventive maintenance
- Ensure employees interact attentively and courteously with guests and colleagues
- Forecast monthly financial position and analyze data to reforecast
- Conduct management interviews and follow hiring procedures
- Interview final candidates for vacant management positions
- Perform Executive Committee member appraisals and ensure compliance in staff appraisals
- Motivate counsel and discipline management personnel according to S.O.P.s
- Perform other duties requested by Vice President or Regional Director
- Ensure fair and equitable treatment of employees
- Meet clients on property to support sales efforts
- Be present in public areas during peak times greeting guests
- Ensure hotel safe procedures and audits are followed
- Conduct monthly credit meetings and manage credit policies
