Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Two years general food preparation or cooking experience preferably in cafeteria or restaurant setting
- ServSafe Certification
- CPR/AED certified

- Basic knowledge of food preparation and cooking practices, procedures, and regulations
- Ability to work flexibly and communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Good organizational and interpersonal skills
Job Duties
- Assumes full responsibility of food preparation, kitchen and dining room clean-up, and meal coordination in the absence of the Food Service Manager
- Assists Food Service Manager with planning weekly menu and grocery shopping
- Prepares food including entrées, side dishes, desserts, and beverages for meal programs and special events
- Evaluates food quality, quantity, appearance, temperature, and taste to ensure freshness and safety compliance
- Prepares and maintains items for coffee station, congregate and grab-and-go meal services, and Senior Center activities
- Transports food to and from storage and serving areas, plates food
- Conducts daily cleanup of food preparation areas and maintains sanitation standards
- Maintains kitchen and dining stocks and supplies, assists with delivery and storage
- Ensures cleanliness of dining room area and coordinates with custodial staff
- Assists with general Senior Center program operations and special events
- Performs related duties as assigned
