Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 3 years experience in food and beverage, culinary or related professional area
  • OR 2-year degree from accredited university in Food Service Management, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration or related major
  • 1 year experience in food and beverage, culinary or related professional area
  • Availability to work full time
  • Ability to work on-site at The Westin DC Downtown
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of operational budgets and payroll processes

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with 3 years experience in food and beverage or related area
  • OR 2-year degree in Food Service Management, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration or related field with 1 year experience
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Knowledge of food and beverage operations
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to manage budgets and payroll reports
  • Effective communication skills
  • Problem-solving abilities

Job Duties

  • Assists in ordering food and beverage supplies, cleaning supplies and uniforms
  • Supervises daily food and beverage shift operation and ensures compliance with policies, standards and procedures
  • Supports and supervises a monthly self-inspection program
  • Operates all department equipment as necessary and reports malfunctions
  • Supervises staffing levels to meet guest service, operational needs, and financial objectives
  • Encourages and builds mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members
  • Coordinates cleaning programs in all food and beverage areas and recommends improvements
