Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- 3 years experience in food and beverage, culinary or related professional area
- OR 2-year degree from accredited university in Food Service Management, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration or related major
- 1 year experience in food and beverage, culinary or related professional area
- Availability to work full time
- Ability to work on-site at The Westin DC Downtown
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of operational budgets and payroll processes
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED with 3 years experience in food and beverage or related area
- OR 2-year degree in Food Service Management, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration or related field with 1 year experience
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Knowledge of food and beverage operations
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to manage budgets and payroll reports
- Effective communication skills
- Problem-solving abilities
Job Duties
- Assists in ordering food and beverage supplies, cleaning supplies and uniforms
- Supervises daily food and beverage shift operation and ensures compliance with policies, standards and procedures
- Supports and supervises a monthly self-inspection program
- Operates all department equipment as necessary and reports malfunctions
- Supervises staffing levels to meet guest service, operational needs, and financial objectives
- Encourages and builds mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members
- Coordinates cleaning programs in all food and beverage areas and recommends improvements
