Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of three years experience in food and beverage, culinary, or related professional area
  • OR two-year degree from accredited university in food service management, hotel and restaurant management, hospitality, business administration, or related field
  • At least one year experience in food and beverage, culinary, or related professional area
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills
  • Capability to manage budgets and operating reports
  • Willingness to perform hourly job functions when necessary
  • Ability to maintain a professional and courteous demeanor
  • Availability to work full-time at San Antonio Marriott Rivercenter

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with three years experience in food and beverage, culinary or related field
  • OR two-year degree from accredited university in food service management, hotel and restaurant management, hospitality, business administration, or related major with one year experience
  • Strong knowledge of food and beverage operations
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Leadership and supervisory experience
  • Ability to analyze operational reports and budgets
  • Effective problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with department equipment and safety standards
  • Demonstrated ability to foster teamwork and cooperation among staff
  • Commitment to brand service culture standards

Job Duties

  • Assists in ordering food and beverage supplies, cleaning supplies and uniforms
  • Supervises daily food and beverage shift operations ensuring compliance with policies and standards
  • Supports and supervises monthly self-inspection programs
  • Operates department equipment and reports malfunctions
  • Supervises staffing levels to meet guest service, operational needs and financial goals
  • Encourages mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members
  • Develops goals and plans to prioritize and organize work
  • Communicates attention areas to staff and follows up to ensure understanding
  • Coordinates cleaning program in all food and beverage areas identifying trends and improvements
  • Follows property-specific second effort and recovery plans
  • Demonstrates knowledge of brand specific service culture
  • Provides services exceeding customer satisfaction and retention expectations
  • Serves as a role model for appropriate behaviors
  • Manages daily operations ensuring quality and meeting customer expectations
  • Takes proactive approaches to guest concerns
  • Reviews guest satisfaction feedback with employees
  • Responds timely to customer service department requests
  • Provides information to supervisors and co-workers
  • Analyzes information to solve problems effectively
  • Performs hourly job functions if necessary
  • Extends professionalism and courtesy to team members
  • Comprehends budgets, operating statements, and payroll progress reports
