Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 3 years experience in food and beverage, culinary, or related professional area
  • OR 2-year degree from accredited university in Food Service Management, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major
  • 1 year experience in food and beverage, culinary, or related professional area
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to operate department equipment
  • Availability to work full time
  • Ability to supervise and lead a team
  • Knowledge of food and beverage policies and standards
  • Ability to maintain guest satisfaction and handle guest concerns professionally

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with 3 years experience in food and beverage or culinary or related field
  • OR 2-year degree from accredited university in Food Service Management, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major with 1 year experience in food and beverage or culinary or related field
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage budgets and financial reports
  • Proficiency operating department equipment
  • Knowledge of brand-specific service culture
  • Experience in customer service and guest relations
  • Problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities

Job Duties

  • Assist in ordering food and beverage supplies, cleaning supplies and uniforms
  • Supervise daily food and beverage shift operation and ensure compliance with all policies, standards and procedures
  • Support and supervise monthly self inspection program
  • Operate department equipment and report malfunctions
  • Supervise staffing levels to meet guest service, operational needs and financial objectives
  • Encourage and build mutual trust, respect and cooperation among team members
  • Develop goals and plans to prioritize, organize and accomplish work
  • Celebrate successes and learn from failures
  • Communicate areas needing attention to staff and follow up to ensure understanding
  • Coordinate cleaning programs in all food and beverage areas
  • Follow property-specific second effort and recovery plan
  • Stay readily available and approachable for team members
  • Demonstrate knowledge of brand-specific service culture
  • Provide services above and beyond for customer satisfaction and retention
  • Serve as a role model demonstrating appropriate behaviors
  • Manage day-to-day operations ensuring quality and meeting customer expectations
  • Take proactive approaches when dealing with guest concerns
  • Set a positive example for guest relations
  • Stay readily available and approachable for guests
  • Review comment cards and guest satisfaction results with employees
  • Respond timely to customer service department requests
  • Provide information to supervisors and co-workers by telephone, written form, email, or in person
  • Analyze information and evaluate results to solve problems
  • Perform hourly job functions if necessary
  • Extend professionalism and courtesy to team members at all times
  • Comprehend budgets, operating statements, and payroll progress reports
