Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 3 years experience in food and beverage, culinary or related professional area
  • OR 2-year degree from accredited university in Food Service Management, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major
  • 1 year experience in food and beverage, culinary, or related professional area
  • Ability to supervise daily operations
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Availability to work full-time on-site
  • Capability to operate food and beverage department equipment
  • Understanding of budgets and payroll reports
  • Commitment to guest satisfaction and team leadership
  • Willingness to perform hourly job functions if necessary

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with 3 years experience in food and beverage, culinary or related field
  • OR 2-year degree in Food Service Management, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major with 1 year experience
  • Proven supervisory experience in food and beverage operations
  • Strong knowledge of food and beverage policies, standards and procedures
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to build and maintain cooperative team environments
  • Skilled in customer service with problem-solving ability
  • Familiarity with budgeting, operating statements and payroll management
  • Proficient in operating food and beverage department equipment
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational capabilities

Job Duties

  • Assist in ordering food and beverage supplies, cleaning supplies and uniforms
  • Supervise daily food and beverage shift operations ensuring compliance with policies, standards and procedures
  • Support and supervise a monthly self-inspection program
  • Operate department equipment as necessary and report malfunctions
  • Supervise staffing levels to meet guest service, operational and financial objectives
  • Encourage and build mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members
  • Develop specific goals and plans to prioritize and accomplish work
  • Celebrate and foster decisions that result in successes and failures
  • Communicate areas needing attention to staff and follow up
  • Coordinate cleaning programs in all food and beverage areas and recommend improvements
  • Follow property specific second effort and recovery plans
  • Stay readily available and approachable for all team members
  • Demonstrate knowledge of brand-specific service culture
  • Provide services beyond customer expectations
  • Serve as a role model demonstrating appropriate behaviors
  • Manage day-to-day operations ensuring quality and customer expectations
  • Take proactive approaches in guest concerns
  • Set positive examples for guest relations
  • Review comment cards and guest satisfaction results
  • Respond timely to customer service requests
  • Provide information to supervisors and co-workers via telephone, email, or in person
  • Analyze information and evaluate results for problem solving
  • Perform hourly job functions if necessary
  • Extend professionalism and courtesy to team members
  • Understand budgets, operating statements and payroll progress reports
