Job Requirements

  • Availability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
  • Ability to stand for 8-10 hour shifts
  • Highly responsible and reliable
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and recipes
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or fellow employees
  • Ability to interpret written, oral, diagram, or schedule instructions
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, use hands, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, sit, reach, climb, and balance as required
  • Previous Silverware and Resy experience an asset

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Hotel/Restaurant Management is desirable but not required
  • 1-3 years management experience in a high volume setting
  • 1-2 years managing a coffee/smoothie program preferred
  • Passion for food and restaurant operations
  • Guest oriented and service minded
  • Ability to lead by example and work collaboratively
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
  • Moderate computer skills including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Illinois BASSET Certification
  • Serv Safe Manager Food Handlers Certificate

Job Duties

  • Manage recruitment, retention, and training of food and beverage staff
  • Cultivate professional relationships and promote a team-driven work environment
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and oversee cleanliness
  • Create and implement weekly staff schedules
  • Delegate tasks and supervise employees
  • Oversee maintenance of dining areas, kitchen, smoothie counter, pool, and snack shop
  • Monitor food and beverage quality and initiate improvements
  • Organize and execute large parties and events with Event Planner
  • Manage budgeting, inventory, accounting, payroll, and financial matters
  • Monitor sales and revenue goals, maintain labor costs within budget
  • Supervise dining room and common space to ensure quality service
  • Respond to membership event requests and complaints
  • Use guest feedback to improve service and increase member satisfaction
  • Represent Midtown standards in all interactions with membership
