Job Requirements

  • availability to work flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
  • able to stand for 8-10 hour shifts
  • previous silverware and resy experience an asset
  • ability to adapt and succeed in fast-paced environment
  • ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedures
  • ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • ability to speak effectively before groups
  • approved Illinois BASSET certification
  • valid Serv Safe Manager Food Handlers Certificate
  • ability to use hands and perform physical tasks
  • good communication skills
  • highly responsible and reliable

Job Qualifications

  • bachelor of science degree in hotel or restaurant management desirable
  • 1-3 years management experience in high volume setting
  • 1-2 years managing coffee or smoothie program preferred
  • passion for food and restaurant operations
  • guest oriented and service minded
  • excellent communication and organizational skills
  • exceptional interpersonal and problem solving abilities
  • reliable and responsible
  • moderate computer skills including email, word processing, and spreadsheets
  • experience using ms office (word, excel, powerpoint)
  • illinois BASSET certification
  • serv safe manager food handlers certificate
  • ability to read and interpret safety rules and procedures
  • ability to write reports and correspondence
  • effective public speaking skills
  • ability to interpret various instructions

Job Duties

  • manage recruitment process and retention tactics for staff
  • cultivate and maintain professional relationships with employees
  • maintain superior service levels and facilitate ongoing education
  • create and implement weekly schedules
  • delegate tasks to employees
  • supervise staff for safety and cleanliness
  • accommodate staff and guest requests
  • train employees on proper actions and attitudes
  • assist with employee evaluations
  • establish open and collaborative relationships with team
  • ensure employee meetings take place
  • manage maintenance of dining areas and food outlets
  • monitor and audit food and beverage offerings
  • organize and execute large parties and events
  • assist in budgeting, inventory, accounting, payroll
  • monitor sales to meet revenue goals
  • maintain daily payroll records and labor costs
  • supervise dining room and common spaces
  • organize and respond to event requests
  • interact with members to ensure satisfaction
  • use guest feedback to improve service
  • represent Midtown standards in all communications
