Job Requirements

  • Availability to work flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Hotel or Restaurant Management desirable but not required
  • 1-3 years management experience in high volume setting
  • 1-2 years managing coffee or smoothie program preferred
  • Passion for food and restaurant operations
  • Guest oriented and service minded
  • Ability to lead by example with a win together work ethic
  • Ability to adapt and succeed in fast-paced environment
  • Previous Silverware and Resy experience an asset
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal and problem solving abilities
  • Highly responsible and reliable
  • Able to stand for 8-10 hour shift
  • Moderate computer skills including email, word-processing, spreadsheets
  • Experience using MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Illinois BASSET Certification required
  • Serv Safe Manager Food Handlers Certificate required
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, procedure manuals, and recipes
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to speak effectively before customers or employees
  • Ability to interpret written, oral, diagram, or schedule instructions
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, use hands, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, hear
  • Occasionally required to climb or balance

Job Duties

  • Manage recruitment process and retention tactics including corrective action and training
  • Cultivate professional relationships with employees through positive and team-driven efforts
  • Maintain superior service levels and facilitate ongoing employee education
  • Assist in creating and implementing weekly schedules
  • Delegate tasks effectively
  • Supervise staff for safety and cleanliness in accordance with health regulations
  • Accommodate staff and guest requests
  • Train employees on proper actions and attitudes
  • Assist with employee evaluations
  • Establish and maintain collaborative employee relationships and solicit feedback
  • Ensure consistent employee meetings
  • Oversee maintenance of dining areas, kitchen, smoothie counter, pool, and snack shop
  • Monitor and improve food and beverage offerings
  • Organize and execute parties and events in collaboration with event planner
  • Assist in budgeting, inventory, accounting, and payroll management
  • Monitor sales and revenue goals
  • Review and maintain payroll and labor costs
  • Supervise dining room and common space quality
  • Respond to large party and event requests
  • Interact with members to ensure satisfaction
  • Use guest feedback to improve service
  • Represent Midtown standards in member communications
