Job Requirements
- Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language used in the workplace
- Must be able to read and write to facilitate communication
- Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written
- Considerable knowledge of complex mathematical calculations and computer accounting programs
- Ability to access and accurately input information using moderately complex computer systems
- Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers with patience, tact and diplomacy
- Ability to maintain and develop a high-end beverage program and deliver outstanding beverage experiences
- Experience working in team environments with minimal direct supervision
- Thorough knowledge of federal, state and local laws governing equal employment, civil rights, occupational safety and health, wage and hour issues, and labor relations
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, operate standard food and beverage equipment
- Must have excellent knowledge of fine wines, spirits and beer to develop a world class beverage program and pair beverages with cuisine
- Ability to exert physical ability to maneuver between functions in multiple outlets
- Ability to lift trays of food or food items weighing up to 30 lbs occasionally
- Ability to push and pull carts and equipment up to 250 lbs occasionally
- Requires manual dexterity to operate office equipment and perform repetitive motions
- Ability to bend, stoop, squat and stretch occasionally
- Requires visual acuity for near, color vision and depth perception
- Hearing, smelling, tasting, talking and hearing abilities continually required
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 3-5 years of progressive management experience in a luxury hotel or fine-dining environment
- ServSafe Manager certification required
- Allergen Awareness certification required
- Alcohol Safety certification required
- Sommelier certification preferred
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to develop and maintain a high-end beverage program
- Knowledge of federal, state and local employment and civil rights laws
- Ability to use Microsoft 365 and POS systems
- Team leadership skills
- Bilingual or multilingual ability desirable
Job Duties
- Foster a positive workplace culture centered on accountability, teamwork, and professional growth
- Lead by example to inspire service excellence and continuous improvement
- Plan and direct the functions of administration of the Rugby Grille and other outlets, including banquets
- Engage with guests in person, by phone, and electronically to ensure satisfaction and cultivate lasting relationships
- Conduct monthly beverage inventory to ensure inventory depletion matches sales
- Accurately cost and price new beverage offerings to maintain targeted margins
- Collaborate with marketing partners to develop creative campaigns, social media content, and digital assets
- Provide ongoing training to food and beverage staff focused on product knowledge, service steps, and performance enhancement
- Oversee departmental compliance with federal, state, and local employment and civil rights laws
- Develop, implement and monitor schedules for the operation of all restaurant outlets to achieve profitability
- Establish and achieve predetermined profit objectives and quality standards
- Monitor hotel activities and troubleshoot problems
- Operate Microsoft 365 programs, Silverware POS, and Tock
- Perform general cleaning tasks using hotel cleaning products
- Support other departments during evening hours when senior management is not present
- Perform additional duties as assigned
