Job Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree or higher preferred
  • Illinois Food Handlers Certification and Illinois Basset Certification required
  • one to three years of experience in restaurant or banquet management
  • knowledge of wines, spirits, and menu management
  • experience with financial reporting and budgeting
  • advanced understanding of food and beverage management
  • proficiency in Point of Sale and computer systems
  • excellent communication and leadership skills
  • availability to work nights, weekends, and varying schedules
  • ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items up to 50 pounds

Job Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree or higher preferred
  • Illinois Food Handlers Certification and Illinois Basset Certification required
  • one to three years of previous restaurant and/or banquet management experience
  • knowledge of wines and spirits as well as menus
  • experience with financial reporting
  • advanced knowledge of food and beverage/hospitality management principles
  • intermediate or higher computer skills including Point of Sale systems
  • ability to compile facts and figures per established procedures
  • strong verbal and written communication skills
  • ability to work varying schedules including nights and weekends
  • physical ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds

Job Duties

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of Food and Beverage outlets with heavy focus on banquet business
  • assist in the development, implementation, and execution of the division’s annual budget, business marketing plan, forecasts, and objectives
  • deliver exceptional standards of quality, service, and product to members and customers, leading by example
  • conduct daily pre-shift meetings in restaurant and prior to events to ensure communication to team
  • assist in marketing Food and Beverage outlets through menu development, promotions, and presentations
  • manage human resources including recruitment, training, coaching, performance reviews, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions
  • solicit feedback from members and guests regarding service and offerings
  • assist with preventative maintenance and repair of Food and Beverage related equipment
  • oversee monthly inventory processes for food, beverage, and banquet supplies
  • maintain food and beverage cost of goods sold (COGS)
  • ensure maintenance and sanitation compliance of Food and Beverage areas and equipment
  • monitor food quality and service standards throughout the facility
  • respond to customer trends, needs, and feedback
  • assist Director of Food and Beverage in menu development and implementations
  • implement and manage all company programs to ensure compliance with standard operating procedures and regulations
