Job Requirements
- Floral and design background with a production firm or hotel required
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Floral art/design school training required
- Valid California driver's license
- Good supervisory and business management skills
- Excellent floral and design skills and ability to create pieces at a fast pace
- Ability to up-sell overall event décor
Job Qualifications
- Some college preferred
- Experience in floral and event design
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF, and Outlook
- Knowledge of 3-D CAD programs and design software a plus
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
Job Duties
- Manage by exhibiting Pebble Beach Company's mission, values, and standards
- Communicate all issues and opportunities that arise with Floral & Event Manager
- Lead design skill set with ability to handle weddings and corporate business
- Train, develop, and motivate staff to meet and exceed established standards
- Multitask and work within a fast paced environment
- Manage production, organization, set-up, and strike of all events
- Direct daily operations and assign work to staff
- Manage daily product ordering
- Work with sales and catering to meet guests and clients to upsell event décor
- Create visual presentations and contracts including PowerPoint, Excel, virtual diagrams, renderings, and floral and décor elements
- Design creative floral or décor pieces for hotel areas, special events, clients, and guests
- Plan and conduct quarterly departmental meetings with Floral & Event Manager
- Schedule, review payroll, and approve overtime consistent with budget and hotel activity
- Conduct personnel performance evaluations of staff
- Control material and labor costs through planning and utilization of equipment and supplies
- Use Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF, and Outlook proficiently
- Knowledge of Vivien or 3-D CAD programs, Photoshop, Smugmug, Pinterest, and Dropbox preferred
- Comply with all company safety and health policies
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
