Job Requirements

  • Previous management supervisory experience
  • High school or equivalent education
  • Minimum 2 years experience in quality independent restaurant, club or resort restaurant in front of house role such as manager or supervisor
  • Knowledge of food service operations, banquet and bar management
  • Knowledge of wines and alcoholic beverages
  • Ability to obtain and/or maintain government required licenses, certificates or permits
  • City and County of Honolulu Liquor Commission class and Blue Manager card
  • CPR certification and/or first aid training preferred
  • Must be located on island for consideration
  • Must be available to work weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • In-depth knowledge of Food Service operations, banquet and bar management
  • Knowledge of wines and alcoholic beverages
  • Experience in fine dining service preferred
  • Ability to obtain or maintain required licenses, certificates, or permits
  • CPR certification and/or First Aid training preferred
  • City and County of Honolulu Liquor Commission class and Blue Manager card required

Job Duties

  • Supervises team in a challenging, high volume fast paced environment
  • Assists in achieving all goals within the restaurant and bar
  • Supervises all hourly team members
  • Assist manager in administration and execution of all team member duties to ensure maximum guest satisfaction and positive work environment
  • Assist with payroll functions related to direct reports
  • Assist with employee weekly schedule for the restaurant and bar employees according to expected business levels and managing labor cost
  • Assist in menu items programming in the POS
  • Assist in menu items education to ensure consistency in product knowledge
  • Assist in preparation of menus, including layout and printing for restaurant use
  • Coach, support, lift and train staff as needed
  • Fill in where needed to ensure outstanding guest and member service and be a hands-on manager
  • Interact with members and ensure high level of experience
  • Resolve member and guest complaints and problems assuring member and guest comfort
  • Communicate appropriately with management team of situations
  • Maintain regular attendance and visibility to operations team and club members
  • Inspect inventory of supplies and equipment and communicate needs
  • Confirm food and beverage checks for accuracy and completeness
  • Responsible for accurate closing procedures of the POS system
  • Assure security of dining room and club areas at the end of business day
  • Comply with Oahu Country Club standards and regulations
  • Maintain all Club service standards and knowledge of Liquor Commission regulations
  • Oversee and assist with hiring, training, supervision, and evaluation of restaurant and bar employees
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness and orderliness of restaurant and bar
  • Provide guidance and training on club management system, dining reservation and POS system
  • Attend regular department meetings
  • Retain current Liquor Commission registration card
  • Train and supervise all dining room staff
  • Assist with banquet coverage and oversee events in absence of the Banquet Manager
  • Attend required training and job enhancement seminars
  • Report accidents and injuries promptly
  • Complete incident reports as needed
  • Perform duties safely by following safety policies
  • Assist with emergency situations
  • Assist with beverage inventory at month end
  • Perform other duties as assigned
