Job Requirements

  • Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required
  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position
  • One-year probationary period may be required
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check
  • Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service
  • Work hours may involve weekend, weekdays, holidays and night duty
  • Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks including Tier 1 background investigation
  • Possess and maintain certifications: CPR, First Aid, and AED
  • Must complete courses/classes: MWR Orientation Course, Customer Service, Equipment (Safe Operation and Basic Maintenance Repair)

Job Qualifications

  • Possesses directly related work experience that includes the demonstrated ability to carry out a sports program that included individual and team sports
  • Guides participants in developing skills needed for participation in sports activities
  • Experienced in teaching techniques of various sports
  • The related work experience must have been equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level
  • Candidates who possess a combination of education (an undergraduate in related fields such as physical education or kinesiology) and work experience
  • Possession of a nationally identified Basic Fitness Trainer Certification

Job Duties

  • Serves as Fitness Facility Coordinator and assists in the daily operations/functions required to manage a fitness facility up to 64,798 SQ FT
  • Works under the direction of the Facility Manager
  • Assists the Fitness Facility Manager in the overall management and operation of a fitness facility
  • Leads and or supervises the operation during second shift of program operations and in the absence of the Fitness Manager
  • Assists in the assessment of facility requirements and helps develop plans and specifications for projects to augment or replace fitness and sports facilities
  • Assist in publicizing sports facilities, programs and events
  • Oversees the inventory of property, fitness equipment condition, tracks maintenance and repair or replacement as appropriate
  • Assists with recommendations for purchase/construction of equipment and facilities
  • Instructs customers and monitors proper usage of equipment, as need
