Job Requirements
- Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
- Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, twist and lift
- Ability to safely lift a minimum of 50 pounds unassisted on a daily basis
- Ability to work a variety of shifts including early mornings, late evenings, and weekends
- Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain an Ellis & Associates Lifeguard License within 30 days
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university is desired
- Minimum of one to three years of management experience supervising employees in a customer service-oriented business
- Hands-on direct supervisory experience
- Experience in administering disciplinary action
- Computer literacy
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to deal with difficult people
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
- Ability to collect, analyze, and present data in report forms
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing

Job Duties
- Assist with the supervision and administrative control for efficient operation of the facility
- Determine and continually evaluate member services including vending, registration, membership, equipment, gymnasium, and other services
- Evaluate and respond to customer suggestions for improved or additional services
- Responsible for overall safety and security of staff, members, guests, and facilities
- Perform set-ups and takedowns for facility reservations, gym usage, programs, and special events
- Assist Facility Manager with budget preparation, revenue generation, expense control, and accounts payable
- Provide, support, and train staff in delivering excellent customer service
- Ensure compliance with policies, rules, regulations, and governing documents
- Assist in determining priorities and allocating resources to meet objectives
- Manage assigned budget line items
- Interview and select employees, administer performance appraisals, schedule employees, administer disciplinary actions, develop and monitor staff training
- Supervise and manage fitness area, janitorial staff, and work projects
- Coordinate use and scheduling of the facility for optimum programming space
- Perform general management duties when assigned as Supervisor on Duty
- Troubleshoot facility and landscaping for appearance and working conditions
- Provide management reports on facility usage and trends
- Participate in the organization’s mission of enhancing property values and quality of life through recreation and community events
- Perform related duties as assigned and required
