Job Requirements

  • Minimum five years executive steward or assistant executive steward management experience
  • Serve Safe certified food manager
  • Ability to lift 60 pounds with ease
  • Ability to walk, stand, bend, lift and sit for more than one hour
  • Experience with high volume hospitality environments
  • Knowledge of state legislation in employment and industrial relations
  • Strong communication skills
  • Proven ability to lead diverse teams
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, or similar
  • Ability to manage schedules and control labor costs
  • Experience in training and development

Job Qualifications

  • Customer service experience
  • Prior administrative experience preferred

Job Duties

  • Assist the Executive Steward in efficient department operation
  • Execute company and hotel policies related to stewardship
  • Advise the Executive Steward on stewardship matters
  • Maintain high sanitation standards in stewardship areas
  • Assist in the preparation and control of the department budget
  • Manage purchasing of cleaning supplies, china, glassware, cutlery and equipment
  • Oversee storage, requisitioning, and inventory of materials and equipment
  • Report on breakages and cleaning supply consumption
  • Establish department performance standards
  • Maintain equipment and report defects
  • Perform duties applicable to a department manager
  • Participate in food and beverage department critical tasks
  • Conduct and attend department meetings
  • Plan and control staff scheduling and overtime
  • Oversee training and development of stewardship staff
  • Ensure compliance with state employment and industrial legislation
  • Manage daily labor controls and payroll
  • Create weekly stewarding schedules with Executive Steward approval
