Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent
  • minimum 2 years food and beverage or hospitality experience
  • or minimum 3 years in two related hospitality areas without formal education
  • ability to run shifts and handle scheduling
  • proven problem-solving skills
  • knowledge of OSHA regulations
  • strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • ability to work full time in Irving, Texas

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED or 2-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related field
  • 2 years of experience in food and beverage, culinary, guest services, front desk, housekeeping, or related professional area
  • or at least 3 years of experience in two of the following areas if no standard educational background: food and beverage, culinary, guest services, front desk, housekeeping
  • experience running a shift, scheduling, performance management, problem solving, hospitality skills
  • knowledge of OSHA regulations
  • strong leadership and communication skills
  • ability to handle guest complaints effectively
  • experience in inventory management and ordering supplies
  • ability to train and develop staff

Job Duties

  • Communicates service needs to chefs and stewards throughout functions
  • totals charges for group functions and prepares checks for payment
  • verifies banquet rooms, restaurants, and coffee breaks are ready for service
  • sets tables according to event type and service standards
  • communicates meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to kitchen
  • maintains cleanliness of work areas
  • leads shift teams to provide high-quality service
  • coordinates and leads daily stand-up meetings, pre-shift meetings, and briefings
  • trains staff in processes and performance expectations
  • assists senior managers in financial and administrative duties
  • verifies meeting and event rooms are set according to documentation
  • inspects the cleanliness and presentation of china, glass, and silver
  • handles guest complaints and verifies guest satisfaction
  • manages departmental inventories and orders supplies
  • schedules staff to meet business demands and productivity goals
  • ensures compliance with OSHA regulations
  • creates a motivated and empowering work environment
  • participates in employee performance processes and training
  • assists in interviewing and hiring team members
  • works with Event Planning to ensure flawless event delivery
