Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED or 2-year degree in relevant field
  • minimum 2 years of experience in hospitality-related roles
  • or at least 3 years of experience in two hospitality areas if no formal education
  • ability to manage and lead teams
  • strong communication skills
  • ability to work full time
  • knowledge of OSHA regulations
  • ability to handle guest issues and complaints
  • capable of scheduling staff and managing inventories
  • proficiency in event service standards
  • willingness to participate in training and corrective actions

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED or 2-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major
  • 2 years experience in food and beverage, culinary, guest services, front desk, housekeeping, or related professional area
  • experience running a shift, scheduling, performance management, problem solving, running day-to-day operations, and hospitality skills
  • ability to lead teams and maintain high work standards
  • strong customer service and communication skills
  • knowledge of OSHA regulations
  • experience in coaching, mentoring, and performance appraisal processes
  • ability to handle guest complaints effectively
  • familiarity with banquet beverage management tools
  • ability to manage inventory and departmental supplies
  • skilled in coordinating complex event logistics

Job Duties

  • Communicates service needs to chefs and stewards throughout functions
  • totals charges for group functions and prepares checks for payment
  • verifies banquet rooms, restaurants, and coffee breaks are ready for service
  • inspects cleanliness and presentation of china, glass, and silver
  • checks in with guests to verify satisfaction
  • sets tables according to event and service standards
  • manages inventory and orders supplies for banquet and event services
  • schedules banquet and event service staff to meet forecast and service standards
  • conducts pre-event room function inspections
  • leads shifts and participates in event servicing
  • reinforces standards, policies, and procedures
  • handles guest problems and complaints and seeks manager assistance as needed
  • interacts with guests to obtain feedback and improve service
  • participates in daily meetings and pre-convention sessions
  • supports event technology and audio visual teams
  • assists in training, coaching, mentoring, and performance reviews of staff
  • ensures shift coverage and productivity goals are met
  • maintains departmental inventories and equipment
  • promotes a motivated and empowered team environment
  • ensures compliance with OSHA regulations
  • participates in hiring and scheduling staff
  • utilizes banquet beverage tools to control liquor costs
  • implements brand-specific meeting services programs
  • works with event planning teams to ensure flawless event delivery
