Job Requirements

  • Must pass a background check
  • must be able to stand and walk for long periods
  • must be able to lift at least 30 pounds
  • four-year college degree preferred
  • at least two years working in events

Job Qualifications

  • Knowledge of event planning and fine dining
  • working knowledge of other hotel departments and communication skills
  • knowledge of basic food service standards hygiene and safety
  • competent with Windows-based computers and Microsoft Office and industry software
  • demonstrated management skills

Job Duties

  • Motivates teammates to work cheerfully efficiently and effectively
  • provides leadership support to Banquets & Catering team
  • hands-on management of events including setting up tables running food making drinks running AV equipment
  • develops strong communication with Event Manager and Event Sous Chef
  • maintains clear communication between Banquets & Catering department and other hotel departments
  • maintains good relationships with guests groups and teammates
  • provides administrative support for Event Manager and Event Sales Manager
  • confidently answers questions about products services and property
  • creates innovative set-ups menus and functions
  • manages and executes events according to standards
  • maintains and improves set-up and tear down processes
  • interacts with on-site client contacts and assists with requests
  • performs tasks related to event execution and fills in for event servers
  • assists with organizing delivery and return of rental items
  • updates and re-evaluates SOPs
  • monitors team hours payroll and tracks calendar
  • reviews applications interviews candidates and hires team
  • owns client interaction and detailing of small events
  • updates BEOs and Delphi as needed
  • communicates event changes to culinary and event team
  • updates and communicates team schedule
  • creates signage menus food labels
  • creates floor plans
  • maintains inventory of linens and event items
  • reconciles department checkbook
  • performs other duties as assigned
