Job Requirements

  • Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time
  • Must be able to lift at least 30 pounds
  • Four-year college degree preferred
  • At least two years working in events

Job Qualifications

  • Knowledge of event planning and fine dining required
  • Working knowledge of other departments in the hotel and the skill to integrate and communicate that information preferred
  • Knowledge of basic food service standards, service, hygiene and safety
  • Competent with Windows-based computers and Microsoft Office and familiar with industry standard software
  • Demonstrated management skills
  • Demonstrates enthusiasm for all things 21c
  • Must pass a background check

Job Duties

  • Motivates teammates to work cheerfully, efficiently, and effectively
  • Provides leadership support to Banquets & Catering team
  • Hands-on management of events including setting up tables, running food, making drinks, running AV equipment
  • Develops strong communication with Event Manager and Event Sous Chef to receive details and tools necessary to execute events
  • Maintains clear communication between Banquets & Catering and other property departments
  • Maintains good working relationships with guests, groups, and teammates from other departments
  • Provides administrative support for Event Manager & Event Sales Manager
  • Confidently answers questions from clients, teammates, and management
  • Creates innovative set-ups, menus, and functions for groups
  • Manages and executes events according to standards documented in the Event Service Manual
  • Maintains, implements, and improves efficient set-up and tear down processes
  • Interacts with on-site client contacts and assists with any requests not listed in materials
  • Performs any task related to execution and running of events and fills in for event servers as necessary
  • Assists Event Manager in organizing delivery and return of rental items
  • Consistently re-evaluates and updates SOPs for the Banquets & Catering department
  • Works with Event Manager to monitor Event Team hours and overtime as well as payroll
  • Tracks Team calendar
  • Reviews applications, interviews candidates and hires Event Team alongside Event Manager
  • Owns client interaction and detailing of small segment of events
  • Assists Event Manager with updating BEOs & Delphi
  • Ensures event updates and changes are communicated to culinary and event team
  • Updates and communicates team schedule
  • Creates signage, menus, food labels
  • Creates floor plans for events as needed
  • Maintains inventory of linen, non-alcoholic beverages, event department specific items
  • Reconciles department checkbook
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager
