Job Requirements

  • Must be able to stand and walk for long periods
  • must be able to lift at least 30 pounds
  • must pass background check
  • four-year college degree preferred
  • at least two years working in events

Job Qualifications

  • Knowledge of event planning and fine dining
  • working knowledge of hotel departments and communication skills
  • knowledge of food service standards, hygiene, and safety
  • competent with Windows and Microsoft Office
  • familiarity with industry standard software
  • demonstrated management skills

Job Duties

  • Motivates teammates to work cheerfully, efficiently, and effectively
  • provides leadership support to Banquets & Catering team
  • manages events hands-on including setting up tables, running food and beverages, and running AV equipment
  • develops communication with Event Manager and Event Sous Chef to receive event details
  • maintains clear communication between Banquets & Catering and other property departments
  • maintains good relationships with guests and teammates
  • provides administrative support for Event Manager and Event Sales Manager
  • answers client and team questions about products/services/property
  • creates innovative setups, menus, and functions for groups
  • manages and executes events as per Event Service Manual
  • maintains and improves setup and teardown processes
  • interacts with on-site client contacts and assists with requests
  • performs all execution tasks and fills in for event servers if needed
  • assists Event Manager with event rentals
  • updates SOPs for Banquets & Catering
  • monitors team hours, overtime, and payroll
  • tracks team calendar
  • participates in hiring alongside Event Manager
  • handles client interaction and small event detailing
  • updates BEOs and Delphi
  • communicates event updates to culinary and event teams
  • updates team schedules
  • creates signage, menus, and floor plans
  • maintains event inventory and reconciles checkbook
  • performs other duties assigned
