Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in hospitality, recreation, events management, marketing, or business
- 1-3 years of experience in event planning, development, or hospitality
- Valid state driver's license
- Ability to obtain CPR and First Aid certifications
- Must submit a resume and cover letter with application
- Successful completion of background check
- Successful completion of drug test after conditional offer
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as necessary
- Strong organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to manage event logistics independently
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in hospitality, recreation, events management, marketing, or business
- 1-3 years of experience in event planning, development, or hospitality
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Experience with vendor and contract management
- Knowledge of safety standards and permit requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and event management software
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid state driver's license

- Experience in community engagement and partnership development
Job Duties
- Assist in planning, implementing, and evaluating community events such as festivals, concerts, parades, and seasonal events
- Coordinate and lead assigned events including the Vienna Photo Show and Contest, Flashlight Egg Hunt, Summer on the Green Concert Series, Kids on the Green Concert Series, Church Street Stroll, and Donuts with Santa
- Serve as the Town liaison for Town Partnership events like Viva! Vienna or Oktoberfest
- Coordinate logistics including site layouts, event timelines, and staff assignments
- Draft emergency plans and apply for required permits with relevant agencies
- Prepare and oversee part-time event staff schedules and hiring
- Manage vendor and performer communications, contracts, and service quotes
- Provide on-site support and supervision at events and act as Manager on Duty in absence of Superintendent
- Assist with physical setup and teardown of event equipment and supplies
- Track event attendance, expenses, and revenues
- Manage invoices and event-related documentation
- Develop marketing plans and coordinate with Public Information Office for promotional materials
- Build and maintain community and sponsorship partnerships
- Support professional development through meetings, conferences, and training
- Maintain positive relationships with department staff, volunteers, partners, and community members
- Perform related duties as assigned
