Job Requirements
- Completion of a bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Marketing, or Business Administration
- three years of supervisory experience in event management or conference services
- three years of experience in large-scale event planning and catering sales
- experience with budget development and fiscal management
- excellent communication skills
- proven leadership with diverse staff and students
- proficiency in Microsoft Office and web-based tools
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Marketing or Business Administration
- three years of progressively responsible supervisory experience with staff development and goal setting
- three years of experience in large event, conference and catering sales
- experience in fiscal management and budget development
- excellent oral and written communication skills
- proven ability to manage diverse staff and students
- proficiency in Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office Suite
- preferred experience in higher education event planning, union workforce experience, and proficiency with event management software
Job Duties
- Ensure customer needs for meetings, catering and conference arrangements are met
- act as on-site manager for events when required
- assist with oversight of building operations including submitting work orders and vendor liaison
- develop, train and supervise part-time staff and student team
- collaborate with catering, setup and administrative staff to uphold service standards
- manage Event Management Software including updates and training
- work with director to develop budget targets and maintain financial controls
- represent department on university and community planning groups
- assist with oversight of campus vending operations
- establish networks with internal and external groups to promote University services and events
- conduct customer satisfaction surveys and program evaluations
- ensure customer satisfaction during scheduled events
