Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Two years of progressive related experience in Higher Education or Student Affairs
  • Expectation to work some nights and weekends
  • Ability to be productive in a fast-paced work environment

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Job Qualifications

  • Master's degree preferred in Higher Education Administration or Student Affairs
  • Two years of progressive related experience in Higher Education or Student Affairs
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • Ability to operate professionally and autonomously
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other programs
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive within a team structure
  • Responsive and timely decision making

Job Duties

  • Advise Category 5, the spirit programming board in planning events and promotions designed to increase support toward the university's athletic teams including football, basketball, baseball, and Olympic sports
  • Coordinate football activities for home games including pre-game festivities, Student Fan Zone, tunnel crew, student section activities, and promotions in partnership with Athletics
  • Coordinate and market special and annual events such as pep rallies, watch parties, freshmen walk, and away trips
  • Collaborate with departments and student organizations to foster partnerships and athletic engagement
  • Serve as the liaison to Athletics for the Department of Student Activities and Student Organizations
  • Serve as the advisor to the Canes Night Live Committee, creating and advertising student-run late night and weekend programs with on-site supervision at events
  • Assist in the advisement of Hurricane Productions student-run programming board, focusing on Canes Night Live leadership and attending executive meetings
  • Develop creative and collaborative late night and weekend programs with registered student organizations
  • Serve as the primary administrator for campus-wide late night and weekend programming initiatives
  • Negotiate and execute event contracts working with Financial Operations, Risk Management, Purchasing, and General Counsel
  • Assist in managing accounts and ensuring approved university purchasing and payment processes
  • Monitor event effectiveness through assessment instruments
  • Manage budgets including operational forecasts and ensure compliance with policies
  • Engage in fundraising and sponsor/donor cultivation
  • Coordinate on-campus gourmet food trucks for events
  • Assist with department-wide programs including Canefest, Homecoming, Commencement, Convocations, concerts, and special events
  • Contribute ideas to operational and strategic plans
  • Represent the department on committees and workgroups
  • Make daily independent decisions to meet departmental objectives and comply with policies
  • Conduct ongoing program and service assessments
  • Demonstrate project, time, and organizational management skills
  • Operate professionally and autonomously
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the Associate Director of Student Activities and Student Organizations
