Job Requirements

- minimum 2 years experience in housekeeping or related field
- or 2-year degree in related field with no prior experience

- 2 years experience in housekeeping or related professional area
- OR 2-year degree from accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration or related major with no work experience required

Job Duties
- reviews staffing levels to ensure guest service, operational needs and financial objectives are met
- obtains list of rooms to be cleaned immediately and list of prospective check-outs or discharges to prepare work assignments
- inventories stock to ensure adequate supplies
- supervises an effective inspection program for all guestrooms and public space
- understands the impact of department’s operations on overall property financial goals and manages to achieve or exceed budgeted goals
- ensures all employees have proper supplies, equipment and uniforms
- communicates areas that need attention to staff and follows up to ensure understanding
- supervises daily housekeeping shift operations and ensures compliance with all policies, standards and procedures
- participates in departmental meetings and communicates clear, consistent messages about goals
- uses on the job training tools to train new room attendants and provide follow-up training
- establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with employees
- schedules employees to business demands and tracks attendance
- ensures employee understanding of expectations and parameters
- administers property policies consistently and completes disciplinary procedures
- observes service behaviors and provides feedback
- ensures employee recognition on all shifts
- solicits employee feedback and reviews satisfaction results
- participates in progressive discipline procedures
