Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in hospitality, restaurant management, or equivalent field preferred
- minimum 3 years' experience in food and beverage management roles
- level 1 certification of Court of Master Sommeliers or equivalent experience
- food handler and alcohol awareness certification if applicable
- strong budgeting and financial management skills
- experience with inventory control and staffing
- ability to manage and lead diverse teams
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- proficiency with hospitality and payroll systems such as Avero, Aloha, Micros, ADP, and eTime
- strong computer literacy
- ability to handle difficult situations with professionalism and integrity
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in hospitality, restaurant management, or equivalent field preferred
- minimum 3 years' experience as a restaurant assistant general manager or assistant director of food and beverage
- level 1 certification of Court of Master Sommeliers or equivalent experience
- food handler and alcohol awareness certification if applicable
- excellent skills in budgeting, expense management, inventory, payroll, labor costing, staffing, marketing, owner relations, and profit and loss management
- ability to diplomatically deal with difficult situations and people while exhibiting consistent integrity
- ability to interpret a variety of instructions and exercise independent judgment and discretion
- proven systems knowledge and experience with Avero, Aloha, Micros, and ADP or eTime payroll systems
- strong computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Job Duties
- Attend property meetings
- develop and lead managers within food and beverage
- understand the property's sales and public relations strategies
- assist chefs on menu engineering such as seasonal specials
- assist with training and communication to all staff
- lead and coordinate the planning and execution of special events on and off property
- ensure all staff have completed appropriate trainings and certifications
- assist the Director of Food and Beverage with projects
- interview, hire, and train employees
- plan, assign, and direct work
- appraise performance
- reward and coach employees
- address complaints and resolve issues
- work with the restaurant team, in-room dining team, bar team, and banquet team
